Meet Our Instructors
Laurie Coughlin, founder of Phytivity, started teaching classes in 1986. She is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and a Youth Fitness Specialist. She has been working in the fitness industry her whole life. Laurie enjoys motivating others to move. She is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington and also taught classes to hundereds of students while she was there.
She believes that fitness should be fun
and should help you relieve stress.
For Anne Krohn, yoga is a way of life.
Yoga helps us feel centered, balanced and in touch with our authenitc selves. Trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Hatha style yoga, Anne brings a peacefulness to the poses and flows she leads in her classes. Focus is on alignment, movement with breath and also a little fun!
Anne strives to cultivate a safe and accepting environment where students can try new poses and explore going deeper into poses they have practiced over and over.
Aida Collings has been a certified
Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) since January
2018. Her specialty certifications are: Zumba Basic, Zumba Toning, Strong by Zumba, Zumba Kids, Aqua Zumba; AFAA Kickboxing,
Pop Pilates and Barre Above.
Aida started her journey as a fitness professional by teaching Zumba Toning classes at the Falls Greens (former Oakwood Worldwide Properties) facility in Falls Church in 2015. It has been a pleasure to see her students stay “Zumba” happy
